National Technical Authority for Information Assurance
(CESG)
National Technical Authority for Information Assurance (CESG) is
the business arm of GCHQ. It employs communications, IT and
language specialists to intercept, decode and interpret
intelligence across a broad spectrum of communication systems and
provides advice and assistance on the security of communications
and electronic data and provides technical expertise in the area of
Information Assurance.
CESG's core clientele are HMG's many central governments and
agencies and the Armed Forces but it can also provide services to
bodies in the wider public sector and to various private sector
companies. These include local government, the health sector, law
enforcement, and all essential services forming the Critical
National Infrastructure, such as power and water.
