Himag wins Shell Springboard Award

Himag Solutions has won a regional Shell Springboard Award worth £40,000, ahead of 160 other entrants.  The Shell Springboard Award supports innovative SMEs with products that help combat climate change, and Himag Solutions’ efficient planar transformers caught the judges’ eye.

This award comes only five months after Himag Solutions won a Research Grant of £157k from the South West RDA.  The grant is 60% funding towards a research project focused on a new generation of lightweight, high performance, high efficiency planar transformers for the renewable energy, hybrid automotive, aerospace, defence and mass passenger transit industries.

Himag Solutions has now been put forward to the UK finals in March, where they will compete to be named as the overall UK winner against four other regional winners.
