Grant for R&D recipient Himag Solutions wins Shell Springboard 2010

Himag Solutions was selected as the UK winner of the Shell Springboard Award 2010, for the best low carbon business idea in the UK, at an awards ceremony in London on Tuesday March 2nd. After winning a regional award back in February, along with £40,000, Himag Solutions beat five other finalists to be chosen as the UK winner.

This award comes only six months after Himag Solutions won a Research Grant of £157k from the South West Regional Development Agency. The grant is 60% funding towards a research project focused on a new generation of lightweight, high performance, high efficiency planar transformers for the renewable energy, hybrid automotive, aerospace, defence and mass passenger transit industries.
