Business Growth: Specialist Facilities and Environments

What are they?

Specialist Facilities and Environments offer more than just physical space. They can provide a range of specialist facilities including equipment and technology, often linked with a University or research centre to help businesses grow. Current sites in the South West include:

  • Bournemouth University Incubation Centre
  • The Hot House, Taunton
  • Incubation North Devon
  • The Innovation Centre, Exeter
  • SETsquared, Bath, Bristol & Swindon
  • Tamar Science Park, Plymouth
  • Torbay Innovation Centre

Three new innovation centres are planned in Cornwall at Pool, Tremough (near Falmouth) and Treliske, in Truro.

The South West RDA is also developing Business Technology Centres as part of this product.

Who are they for?

Innovators and entrepreneurs looking for a supportive, challenging and highly connected environment to exploit new opportunities and create economically sustainable and growing businesses. Both new and existing companies can benefit - the key is new opportunities and new growth.
